Frequently Asked Questions

Q:  When registering, what forms of payment do you accept?
A:  We accept, Venmo (preferred) PayPal or you can click on Pay with PayPal and select the DEBIT or CREDIT CARD option:

Pay with PayPal

BWSL Venmo account:  @BWSL-Summer-2025 for those who prefer an alternative.

Q:  Can I request to play with certain people?
A:  BWSL has a draft each year, one of the major purposes of this league is to meet new people and be part of a community.  Therefore, no one comes in with a preset team, each year the captains have a draft for players.  We do have a list of family members and people's requests, but we make no promises.

Q:  Why can't we add more teams?
A:  Since we have the field one night a week and already have teams of 18, we can't have more teams without starting earlier or playing later (which is very hard on people's work schedules).  We have 8 teams and have 4 one hour games each Thursday.

Q:  Why can't we add another night?
A:  BWSL is a community and part of that community is everyone being at the field, when we add another night or a bi-week it takes away from that feel.  Also the field is filled all other nights of the week and weekends would be really tough for people. If we moved to another field it would be a big expense to have double the equipment, another lock box, etc.. Plus Innocenti is the only field in the city with lights.

Q:  A requirement is that people live in Beverly, why are there women who don't live in Beverly who play?
A:  In order to keep the rates of the field as a service for Beverly residents, 85% of our players need to be from Beverly.  Before the league became so big, we opened up first to Beverly residents and open slots went to others.  Also, in this league you are "grandmothered" in, once you have played you keep your spot even if you move.
